Wisdom teeth are most commonly known to become impacted because there usually is not enough room within a person’s mouth for them. Extracting the wisdom teeth is often necessary so that the surrounding teeth and gums stay healthy and do not become misaligned.

Gum disease

Sometimes gum disease becomes so severe that the teeth also become infected which can be very detrimental. Gum disease can go unnoticed because there are not always noticeable symptoms.
